Mommy and I went to Publix today.  Daddy isn't feeling very well so we went to get him Jello and Soup.  Apparently he thinks he needs to eat hospital food or something.

Anyway, when we got there it was windy and there was a big dark could up above.  Mommy said to me, "I think this is gonna blow over.....I can see it's just a cloud.  We'll leave the umbrella in the car."

Here is a bit of advice for everyone out there....TAKE THE UMBRELLA IN THE DARN STORE!  When we got out of the store it was grey all across the sky (no more clouds, just a sheet of grey) and it was pouring!  POURING!  So, we walked down to the sushi restaurant and Mommy got some sushi to take home.  She was hoping that in the time it took to get and make the sushi the rain would clear up a bit.  But no....it didn't.  So, we ran out to the car in the rain.  I started laughing at the rain drops hitting us.  It was really the frist time I was ever out in the rain.  I couldn't stop giggling!  Then....out of nowhere a Publix guy in a raincoat appeared with a golf umbrella and was standing over us!  Publix might be a little more expensive than Albertson's was, but they sure are super nice there!  Everyone remembers us when we go shopping and they even escort you out to the car in the rain!

I didn't take an afternoon nap today and boy, when we got home from Publix, I was nothing but cranky the rest of the night.  All I did was whine and make grumpy faces.  All through supper I was cranky, playing with Mommy and Harry on the floor I was cranky, even the whole time I was typing this blog I was cranky. The only time I was in a good mood was in the bath tub and the second Mom took me out and wrapped my towel around me I turned cranky.  Now Mommy says it's time for bed.  Oh well....I think I'll just go be cranky until I get my bottle.

Mommy and I went to the doctors today.  Not for me....for Mommy.  And I was a good boy.  Mommy told me when we got in the car, "Nicholas, you were such a good boy!  If you were allowed to have suckers, I'd give you one!"  I don't know what a sucker is but I think that it might be something good!

All of the nurses and the other ladies in the waiting room loved me.  They were talking to me and smiling at me....It was great!  :)  Even Dr. Merritt was playing with me and making silly noises.  I wish every doctor visit was like that.  I mean, I didn't have to get a shot or anything!

I have found a new toy that I love to play with, my xylophone.  I just figured out the other day how to use the stick to make music.  It is so much fun and I'm so proud of myself for playing songs.  Plus all the keys are different colors and that is just cool.

Now I'm off to play with something else.  I'm done with blogging for now.

Well, Mommy is convinced I'm going to get teeth soon.  2 nights ago I was up a few times during the night and I cannot stop chewing on everything!!!  Even my Mommy and Daddy's fingers.  I'm also a bit moody these days.  But you would be too if you were cutting teeth!

I have also started getting big boy food.  Can you believe it?  I have been practicing eating with my fingers for a while now.  Mommy buys these puffs that are different flavors.  I like the cheddar and cinnamon sugar the best!  I also have freeze dried yogurt melts....I like those too, but not as much as the puffs.  For supper time I have food that is chunky.  Yesterday night I had beef with mixed veggies...there were bits of spinach and carrots for me to munch on in the baby food.  At first, I didn't like having chunks in my food.but I'm getting used to it.  And even though I don't have teeth yet, I can use my gums to chew.

Yesterday was also very exciting because I got to try a new fruit....honeydew!  Yummy!!  Mommy mashed the honeydew up and made it into a Popsicle for me.  The cold fruit feels really good on my gums.  I sure hope these teeth come soon.   I don't enjoy being cranky and having my mouth hurt all the time.

Now it's time for a bottle and nap.  Well, Mommy and Daddy hope I'll take a nap.  I think I'll try to stay awake though.  Shhhhh.....don't tell them!!

Well, I am a busy boy!  This weekend we had a visitor staying at our house....Tracy!  We went out to lunch at the Ale House on her first day here.  I really enjoy going out to eat because I get to sit in a high chair now...just like a big boy!  I even get to eat finger food.  And if mommy has soft veggies or bread, she gives me some pieces to munch on.  Yummy!

We also went to the Beach Club to have dinner at Cape May's one night.  It's Tracy's favorite place.  I don't remember too much about that though because I fell asleep.  For the most part we just hung out at home and she played with me.  I mean.....of course she played with me...who wouldn't?

Yesterday after we dropped Tracy off at the airport, Mommy, Daddy, Thad and Sarah took me to EPCOT.  We went on lots of rides.  I really liked the Journey into Imagination ride.  There were so many colors to look at!  While we were in France Mom had a croissant and I got to try a piece.  I don't think I liked it too much though.  We also went on the ride in Mexico.  I thought that was pretty cool because it had Donald Duck in it!  And I know who Donald Duck is because he is on Mickey Mouse Club House.  I love Mickey Mouse Club House.  In fact I watch it pretty much every morning before breakfast.

Now that our company is gone we have some tidying up to do and some errands to run.  Toodles!

WARNING: PARENTAL ADVISORY!

What follows in this post is of a ....graphic....nature.  Nicholas is one gross boy!  So....if you're about to eat lunch, I hope you don't lose your appetite. Sorry.

A post from Mommy.

My son has introduced us to the finer side of parenting today.  Let's start the story at the beginning of nap time.

Chris and I are rearranging some items and doing a bit of summer cleaning in the house this morning.  Nicholas, of course, feels like he needs to help out.  His helping is a bit more like getting in the way so I thanked him for his help, put him in his swing, gave him a bottle and let him drift off to sleep.  Shortly after dozing off, I picked him up and placed him in his crib....like I always do.  No more than 3 minutes after going into the crib, he woke up.  No crying, just playing, so Chris and I left him alone.  He was making cute talking noises to his mobile and playing with the buttons.  he has a couple toys that hang off the sides of the crib as well, so I know he's well entertained.

After about 10 minutes of playing he started to fuss.  Not really crying, just making his "I don't want to be in the crib anymore" noises.  I was hoping he'd find the passy and fall back asleep.  I gave him about 10 more minutes of fussy time before going into the room to retrieve him.

As I opened the door and approached the crib a foul odor hit me.  I thought out loud to Nicholas, "Oh, you have a dirty diaper.  No wonder......"  I stopped mid sentence after witnessing the scene in front of me.  Nicholas standing up in the crib, whining, and a huge brown spot sprayed across the sheets from the middle of the crib all the way to under the mobile.  "UH-OH!"  As I picked him up his diaper was hanging off of him.  The front clasps were still buckled around him however the front of the diaper was no longer attached.  He was covered in poop from the waist down to his toes.  I held him out at arms length and yelled for Chris to come and help me.

Immediately I placed Nicholas into the sink while Chris started stripping the bed.  After a good wash down I SECURELY  placed a new diaper on him and placed him back into his swing.  The sheets have been sprayed down with the hose in the driveway and are now on their second rinse cycle.  Meanwhile, his entire crib and mattress have been sprayed down with Fantastic! Anti-bacterial spray.

I only hope we don't have to go through that again!  I think Chris and I have learned our lesson....ALWAYS make sure he's dressed in more than just a diaper.  A onesie will have to be worn at all times!

I hope you didn't lose your lunch.
